We are very pleased to confirm that Jiri Maly, President, LBS, and Chief Growth Officer, Versar, has accepted our invitation to speak at our inaugural International Executive Resources Group Event on Tuesday, December 12, at the Dacor Bacon House.

Jiri will discuss the transformation of LBS (recently acquired by Versar), and how they operate as both a contractor to the US and other Governments, as well as critical, private sector services. LBS services include military logistics, base maintenance and airfield operations services, military vehicle refurbishment, energy facilities construction and management, and toll road operations and maintenance.

About the Speaker:

Jiri is a McKinsey trained senior business leader with over 25 years of global operations, finance, mergers & acquisitions, and capital projects experience as an executive, investment banker, and consultant.

Since 2016, Jiri heads LBS Services/Versar a $230 million, 1500 employee business with a diverse set of projects in the defense, energy/renewables, and transportation sectors. He is responsible for all global strategic and operational decisions. Earlier in his career, Jiri was a Managing Director at CIBC World Markets where he built an infrastructure finance and advisory platform, supporting infrastructure, energy & renewables, and private equity clients on financing and M&A transactions. From 1997 until 2013, Jiri held multiple roles, at McKinsey & Co. As an Expert Partner he led the establishment of the firm’s global Capital Projects and Infrastructure service line.

He holds undergraduate degrees in both Applied Mathematics and Chemical Physics from the University of Calgary, and a PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago.

Walter U. Baker is on the Board of Directors of International Executive Resource Group and leads the Washington DC Chapter.  Walter is also Managing Director & Global Industrial Practice Leader at Cornerstone International, a top 20 Global Retained Executive Search firm with 300 + consultants in over 70 offices spanning Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. He has conducted over 350 assignments around the world and is intimately familiar with the drivers of successful leadership in both the public and private sectors. The majority of his projects have been for global or regional enterprises and over 70% of his work is for executive positions at the Vice President level and above. 

Prior to joining Cornerstone, Walter served as senior partner with two other leading global networks. His career in executive search began as a consultant in the Chicago office of a top five integrated firm. 

Walter holds a Master’s degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (Comparative Governments) from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He speaks Spanish and has lived overseas and worked extensively in foreign markets, including Latin America, Asia, and Europe.

A past Americas Council member of the AESC and has held board seats for multiple civic and educational organizations. He is Level I & II and Talent Recruitment certified in Harrison Assessments.
