About the Speakers:

Pedro Agustin Valencia Laserna is an accomplished Economist with a Master Degree in Economy and a Specialization in Security Economics.

Pedro was appointed as General Central Consul in Miami on 2/19. He was born in the distinguished city of Popayán and graduated from the University of Los Andes, where he followed a Specialization in Security Economics. Additionally, he has a Master’s Degree in Economy from Javeriana University.

He has extensive experience in the Public Sector and has been recognized for his high performance in Strategic Planning, Process Design, and Process Management. His leadership focuses on collective progress and truly believes that discipline, compromise, and methodical work always results in positive outcomes.

Pedro's experience came from his responsibilities working in the Ministry of National Defense and The National Intelligence Directorate of Colombia, as General Inspector. He has also worked for the Bogotá City Hall as Territorial Director of the Secretariat of Social Integration. He is an entrepreneur and has worked in the Financial Sector.

His calling for Public Service allows to refresh the model and processes of services offered to the Community by the General Consulate of Colombia in Miami.

 

Ricardo Pedroza is the United States Executive Director at ProColombia, responsible for the promotion of non-traditional exports, international tourism, and foreign direct investment in Colombia.

Prior to his appointment in1/21, Ricardo was the European Hub Executive Director for ProColombia in charge of the European Region with a direct presence in France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Russia, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

Before Ricardo joined ProColombia in September 2017, he had developed extensive general management experience gained in the IT sector in roles as Regional Director, Andean, Central America & Caribbean Region for RedHat, Country Manager/Vice President for Oracle, and General Manager for Microsoft. In addition, he has been a member of several Boards of Directors for companies that invested in Colombia.

Ricardo is fluent in English, German, and Spanish and holds a BS in Civil Engineer from Universidad de Los Andes, has a marketing specialization degree from the same university, and has attended multiple management courses at Michigan University, Columbia Business School, and Kellogg School of Management.
