IERG Virtual Chapter colleagues, Brad Boyson and Sumayya Atiya will share their in-region knowledge of the political, economic and human capital considerations when expanding into the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council).

Brad Boyson is the co-founder of HR Learn In, a global M2M (Mentor-to-Mentee) Community and a 'boutique-LinkedIn' upskilling community which focuses on HR, L&D and coaching of professionals. Brad set up the Dubai office for SHRM, the world's largest HR association, and has been living in Dubai for 12 years and working internationally for such notable organizations as Mitsubishi Corporation, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Emaar, the Burj Khalifa (the builder of the world’s tallest building,).  Mr. Boyson will focus on the latest news and insights as to how the 6 member states of the GCC are changing politically and economically.

 

Ms. Sumayya Atiya is a Human Resources Executive with extensive experience with a wide range of HR skills including Workforce Planning & Budgeting, Performance Management including 9 Box Grid, KPI’s and competencies, Talent Management, Training & Development, and Compensation & Rewards; She has served in different business sectors including Oil & Gas, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Logistics, and Information Technology. She has worked in the Middle East (ME) including the GCC countries (Dubai-UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia), North Africa, USA, and Asia.  Ms. Atiya will reveal the hidden costs and diverse labor laws across the GCC region, which can make huge differences when considering workforce planning and HR budget considerations.
